“Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name; and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.”
“Do not stop him,”
Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me.

Whoever is not against us is for us.
Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name, because you belong to the Messiah, will certainly not lose their reward.

Prayer by Bp. Melchizedek at the opening Session of the Legislature, State Capitol, January 22, 2019

Almighty God,

May your goodness and love be present among us today.
Bless this new session with unity, hope and vision.
O God, we pray for unity:
Build in us all a deep respect for one another, so all matters discussed may become fruitful, inspiring and beneficial to all who live in our State.

Almighty God, we pray for hope:
Stir your courage within our hearts and renew our commitment for the common good.
Lord, we pray for vision:
May your compassion fill our lives as we all seek to work for justice, equality and peace.
For you are our God who loves mankind, now and forever. Amen.
